Mediator's Comments: During my career as a lawyer, I have focussed almost entirely on the resolution of disputes. On many occasions I have acted as a decision maker or arbitrator. On many other occasions I have mediated conflicts. Regardless, my focus has always been to assist people to resolve disputes in ways which help them to find a solution, and where possible preserve their relationship. In helping many people from a wide range of backgrounds, I continue to find that misunderstandings are at the heart of many disputes. I have developed an interest in family and child protection mediation over the past several years. It is an area in which the power of mediation can be very helpful to resolve disputes in a way which is both respectful and healing.
