I have facilitated over 150 Family Group Conferences with the Ministry of Children & Family regarding child protection matters. I am especially experienced in matters related to drug and alcohol abuse.

Mediator's Comments: I am recently retired from social work. Over my career I have served as a child protection social worker, community youth worker, child care worker, adolescent addictions counsellor, and family counsellor. I graduated with distinction from the University of Victoria with a B.A. in Child and Youth Care. My post-graduate work includes a Masters Degree in Adult Education from UBC and a Certificate in Family Mediation from the Justice Institute of BC. I have trained Family Conference Coordinators and Social Workers throughout BC in family conferencing skills and techniques.

I have served on the Board of Directors for the Julien Society which operates "Westminster House" - a residential treatment facility for women in addiction.

I reside on the Sunshine Coast with my wife of forty years. We have three adult children and two granddaughters.
