Mediator's Comments:
|
I have degrees in economics and law, including advanced training in the theory and practice of alternative dispute resolution. Since 2004, I have mediated civil cases in Provincial Court, pursuant to the mandatory mediation rule. I have also served as a mediator for the UBC Mediation Moot and a coach in the Advanced Mediation course offered by the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia. I have found that many cases can be settled in half a day or less, especially if the parties are well-prepared and well-advised by counsel. Disputants can be refreshingly creative in developing their own solutions to their disputes; I see my role as facilitating these creative solutions, rather than imposing solutions on the parties. I am open to mediating all manner of civil disputes.
