Mediator's Comments: I have extensive practical experience in working with families who are separating. It is my goal to help families see their way through a very difficult process with respect and integrity so they can move forward in a positive way. My primary focus is in the area of helping parents to develop a parenting plan that works for their family and lessens the potential for future conflict. My mediation experience spans over 20 years of working as a family mediator in the public and private sector. I have completed specialized studies in high conflict mediation, working with families where drug and alcohol abuse and mental health are issues, and interviewing children in mediation. In addition, I have played a key role in the development of the Parenting After Separation Program and other family justice initiatives in the province and developed a number of online training courses for family mediators at the Justice Institute of BC. From 2003- 2006, I was the Director of the Family Mediation Practicum Project. I continue to coach courses, tutor and train mediators, and maintain an active mediation practice.
