Admission to the Rosters   >   Admission to the Child Protection Roster

Mediators on British Columbia's Child Protection Mediation Program (CPMP) Roster mediate disputes relating to a child or a plan of care for a child pursuant to section 22 of the Child, Family and Community Service Act (CFCSA).

While the CPMP Roster is affiliated with the British Columbia Mediator Roster Society, the Society does not set standards for admission to the CPMP Roster. The Dispute Resolution Office, Ministry of Attorney General, in collaboration with the Ministry of Children and Families, develops standards for training and experience which mediators must meet in order to be qualified to offer these mediation services.

To become a member of the CPMP Roster, qualified mediators must successfully complete a selection process that is managed by the Dispute Resolution Office. Insurance coverage is provided through the Provincial Government’s Master Insurance Program (MIP) at no cost to the Child Protection Mediators.

Detailed information about CPMP mediator qualifications and the selection process is available on the Dispute Resolution Office web site at: http://www.ag.gov.bc.ca/dro/child-protection/index.htm.
